This painting originally started out as a simple line sketch as I was thinking about writing a little story about Angels.
“All heaven is excited, as angels clap their hands for joy as they have waited a very long time but ‘now it’s time!’” is the first line of the story.
I thought about joyful angels being fiery messengers, and what that might look like. So choosing yellow paint on a white canvas, I began loose outlines of wing shapes.
The large wings in the foreground formed the basis of the composition, and everything else flowed from there. Working quickly, to try to keep a sense of joyful spontaneity, the painting was finished in a matter of hours.
With this thought in mind, how amazing that we too, who live on the earth, can partner with heavenly hosts to sing joyfully in praise and worship to the coming King
Let our praises rise as incense before the Throne of Grace. Let us lift up Holy hands in praise as we stand in the gap for the salvation of all Israel and the return of their King.
Awesome! All heaven must be singing!
