Grafted In: One New Man Art

Grafting In

Scriptures: “for if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.  If some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the Olive tree, do not boast against the branches.  But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you." (Romans 11:16-18.)

"For if you were cut out of the Olive Tree which is wild by nature, and we’re grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated Olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?" (Romans 11:24)

“Now you are to march around the city, all the men of war circling the city once. So you are to do it for six days. Seven priests will carry seven shofarot of rams’ horns before the ark. Then on the seventh day you are to circle the city seven times while the priests blow the shofarot. It will be when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, when you hear the sound of the shofar, have all the people shout a loud shout...”  (Joshua 6:3-5)

“For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly but powerful through God for the tearing down of strongholds. We are tearing down false arguments.” (2 Corinthians 10:4)

“Seal me in your heart with permanent betrothal, for love is strong as death, and jealousy is as cruel as Sheol. It flashes fire, the very flame of Jehovah.” (Song of Solomon 8:6)

“Let us rejoice and shout for joy [exulting and triumphant]! Let us celebrate and ascribe to Him glory and honor, for the marriage of the Lamb [at last] has come, and His bride has prepared herself.” (Revelation 19:7)

The imagery of an Olive Tree in this painting helps us to 'picture' The Family of God in a simple, even child-like manner. as this painting depicts one of the great mysteries of God. In the book of Romans

Paul uses the imagery of the Olive tree to explain this mystery. I have painted The Olive tree representing Israel, and two hands representing the work of the Holy Spirit grafting a wild Olive Tree into the cultivated Olive tree.

Whilst painting, I imagined what the grafting process may look like, painting  one hand holding a branch from the cultivated olive tree (Jews) and the other hand holding a branch from the wild olive tree(Gentile).

Each separate branch is cut and shaped differently and in such a way that will facilitate a joining together.  This process allows the sap from the cultivated tree to be drawn up into the wild tree, causing the two to grow together becoming one tree, producing an extraordinarily abundant crop.

Israel is the root nation that bore The Light of the World to all the nations of the world. Gentiles from all the nations of the earth, are grafted into Israel to bring fresh life and growth. Now the two separate olive trees grow together becoming the One New Man, olive tree for the glory and splendour of our God and Father over all creation.

This then is the ‘mystery’ that has been hidden in the Church Age but is now revealed in these days.  Israel has been reborn as a nation, Jerusalem is being rebuilt and Messiah Yeshua’s is being revealed to Israel once again.

Its the call of heaven in our day, for Jews and Gentiles to be reconciled in this generation, as never before.  We are being formed into the End Time Bride of Messiah, in preparation for His Return.
