One New Man Art Painting: Olive Trees Growing Together

Olive Trees Growing Together

Scripture: “For if the first fruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaken of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.” (Romans 11: 16-18)

“For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and we’re grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?” (Romans 11:24)

The jealous struggles between sibling rivals can be very intense and painful for the whole family.  This painting attempts to expose that kind of very real emotionally charged wrestling that takes place, often nonverbally within the family of God.

Misunderstanding, judgements, indifference and other negative beliefs and attitudes over many generations have soured our relationships towards one another.

Jews and Gentiles have been culturally and spiritually separated for nearly 2000 years, and this in spite of Jesus being the Jewish lamb of God.

Jewish believers are distinct in their own  Identity as the Olive Tree of Israel. Whilst Gentile Christian’s,(wild olive tree) are grafted into the Olive Tree of Israel.

As gentiles we are becoming increasingly aware of our role in God’s purposes for the salvation of all Israel.

Through this family struggle, both sides of the family learn to grow in love towards one another in preparation for the Return of Messiah Yeshua Jesus.
