One New Man Art Painting: The Lion Roars

The Lion Roars

Scriptures: “The Lord will roar from Zion and utter His voice from Jerusalem. The heavens will shake: But the Lord wills be a shelter for His people And the strength of the Children of Israel”. (Joel 3:16)

“His eyes are like a flame of fire, and many royal crowns are on His head. He has a name written that no one knows except Himself.” (Revelation 19:12)

“The anger of Adonai will not turn until He has executed and fulfilled the purposes of His heart. In the last days you will discern it clearly.” (Jeremiah 23:20)

“Come out of her, My people! Each of you, save your soul from the fierce anger of Adonai.” (Jeremiah 51:45)

Some years ago I had a vision during a time of corporate Intercession. In the vision I had the impression that the Lord was standing in front of us with an intense look in his eyes.

In the vision, I was drawn up into the pupil of His eye and simultaneously saw what I understood to be a rapid overview of the history of the Jewish people.

It was a profound experience that left me feeling very weak and drained for many hours.

Not long afterwards the Lord started to release me to paint spontaneously during worship and intercession gatherings.

This dramatic painting is one of the versions that I painted in that season.  It’s a spontaneous expression of what I sensed from the Lord.

“ I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great zeal. I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; For I was a little angry, and they helped but with evil intent”.

(Zechariah 1:15)

Strong winds, both natural and spiritual, are blowing over Israel and the nations these   days.  Let’s continue to stand in the gap, and cry out for mercy while it is still day.

“We must do the work of the One who sent Me, so long as it is day! Night is coming when no one can work.” (John 9:4)

Let’s continue to encourage one another to take up the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God as watchmen on the Walls blowing the trumpet and sounding the alarm to both encourage and warn.
